Voluntary role with paid travel expenses
The majority of meetings will be held in London with occasional travel in England
With your senior-level strategic leadership skills, and an interest in improving the lives of people with long term conditions, you could make an invaluable contribution as we develop the self management uk Charity.
The organisation is well-established and highly successful in revolutionising the lives of people with long-term health conditions. We design, develop and deliver programmes that give people with long-term conditions the confidence to use tools and techniques that can help them to manage their condition and improve their lives.
Our apporach is increasingly recognised by Government and stakeholders as a critical way forward in healthcare. The Charity’s Trustees are therefore focused on ensuring that the organisation’s strategy, resources and management processes are aligned to deliver the growth that we anticipate.
Your background may well include third sector, public services or commercial organisations, ideally with some Board level experience. The crucial attributes are senior level leadership experience, a collaborative approach and a preparedness to help support the Executive Team in the Charity. We would particularly welcome applications from those with Online/IT or Fundraising experience.
Your time commitment will include approximately six Board meetings annually, plus representing us at occasional events and with key stakeholders. The majority of meetings are held in our London office.
You will serve an initial term of three years to be eligible for re-appointment for one additional term.
This is a voluntary position and so not remunerated, although travel expenses will be reimbursed.
