Information and Support Coronavirus Long COVID Long COVID We know that experiencing long COVID can seriously impact a person's health and wellbeing, which is why we believe in the importance of educating people about it. The Office of National Statistics (ONS) reported that 64% of those reported to be living with long COVID said it adversely affected their day-to-day activities and "20% reported that their ability to do normal activities has been limited a lot." (1) Section 5 of the ‘COVID-19 Rapid Guideline: managing the long-term effects of COVID-19’ issued by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) recommends healthcare professionals caring for people with ongoing symptomatic COVID-19 or post-COVID-19 syndrome who have been assessed in primary care or a multidisciplinary assessment service, are provided access to supported self-management.
