"NEW BEGINNINGS – POSITIVE STEPS” is a mental health self-management course for people living with, or in recovery from a mental health condition which enables individuals to manage and adapt to the problems they encounter in daily living, by introducing topics and activities including:
- Confidence building, paced to individual requirements
- Anxiety and Depression management
- Relaxation techniques
- Triggers and relapse symptom awareness
- Set-back strategies and reinterpreting beliefs
- Communicating better with family, friends and professionals
- Planning for the future
Previous participants of this course have reported that it helped them to:
- Feel more confident and in control of their lives
- Form new friendships, reducing the feelings of isolation
- Change their thinking about mental health
